I can totally understand why some people love the feeling of a wash-off cleanser but I’ve never been a foam and water girl – just can’t stand the wet hair business, so never really been a fan. I much prefer a lotion or cream taken off with a cotton wool pad. Maybe slightly less environmentally friendly but at least you can see what you’ve taken off and no water running down your neck.

With this in mind I never thought I’d go much on cleansing butters and oils but I think I’ve just found cleansing Nirvana! The first one I tried was Organic Pharmacy Carrot Butter Cleanser which, taken off with a muslin cloth, does a good job without too much fuss and leaves the skin really soft and clean. Next was Nude Cleansing Oil.

Again it leaves a lovely soft skin and gives a thorough cleanse. However my current favourite is Rodial A List Cleanser. It smells divine, has a great texture that’s not too heavy and is even took my eye make up off.
