In the Spotlight: Paula’s Choice Skincare

Discover Paula’s Choice Skincare

When it comes to skincare authority icons, look no further than Paula Begoun. With years of research in and out of the lab, Paula has real experience in the industry and is a trusted personality in the beauty world. Paula’s approach to skincare is no-nonsense, and after struggling to find skincare solutions with transparent efficacious ingredients, Paula decided to create her own range using her bespoke formulations.

Naming her brand Paula’s Choice, Paula’s revolutionary skincare brand was born. Her vision was to decode and demystify skincare, helping people to curate their own regime according to their skin’s needs using the most high-performance ingredients. With research on her side, Paula was destined for success.

To discover three of the core Paula’s Choice ranges, enjoy our round-up below.

Paula’s Choice Skincare Ranges

Paula’s Choice Resist

Although Paula doesn’t believe this range is strictly for mature skin, the Resist range is a targeted anti-ageing collection that is suitable for anyone looking to prevent and care for the visible signs of ageing. The range caters for Normal-Dry as well as Combination-Oily, offering light daily moisturisers, correcting treatments, retinols and hydrating creams, which work in harmony to minimise fine lines, improve skin texture and refine the pores.

Paula’s Choice Liquid Exfoliants

Two products that Paula’s Choice is most known for are her AHA’s and BHA’s. To learn more about AHA’s, read our dedicated blog post: What is Glycolic Acid?. In essence, AHA’s refer to Glycolic and Lactic Acids whilst BHA’s refer to Salicylic Acid.

AHA’s are liquid exfoliants that smooth and resurface the skin surface, draw away impurities and reduce the buildup of dead skin cells. The general advice from dermatologists is to begin using AHA’s on the skin gradually and starting with a low concentration on a non-regular basis. Once the skin becomes more used to the acid toner, you can build up the intensity. For those with sensitive skin, AHA’s should be used with caution not to irritate the skin. In addition, AHA must always be used in conjunction with a daily SPF.

BHA’s are recommended for those with oily and sensitive skin as this is a more gentle ingredient. Helping to boost moisture, reduce breakouts and gently exfoliate the skin, Salicylic Acid is a great choice for young adults and those with hormonal skin. Paula’s Choice BHA’s are also enriched with Green Tea Extract to calm and soothe the complexion.

Paula’s Choice Boosters

Paula’s Choice recently formulated skincare boosters to help you customise your own bespoke skincare formulas. Select from pore-reducing Niacinamide, hydrating Hyaluronic Acid, line-reducing Peptides and the conditioning Moisture Renewal Oil. Add a small amount to your serums or moisturiser and reap the rewards of these powerful boosters.
