I have female pattern hair loss, a condition inherited from my mother (I noticed at age 29 my fringe started thinning and slowly, the hair on top of my head started to shed over the years). It was quite noticeable by the time I was 39, when I first started using Regaine. I was having to use scalp concealer and hair fibres. I would say within 9 months, my hair was a great deal thicker. 1.5 years on, I have masses of long thick hair (which has now become a nightmare to deal with because there is so much of it). Basically, all the hair I lost off the top of my head has now grown back and has stayed. So this has worked for me. Couple of tips: speak to your GP if you’re a lady with hair loss, even if you think it’s from female pattern baldness like me (they will carry out some tests to make sure it’s not relating to a health condition, such as a vitamin deficiency). 2. Everyone talks about the initial shed you get from this treatment. That was the case with me - I did notice an initial shed of hair, but it only lasted 2.5 weeks and it certainly was not masses of hair coming out (for eg, after washing I would notice a few more strands than usual in the shower or when brushing, more hairs than I usually would see). When you see this: don’t panic, it’s a great sign the treatment is going to work for you - so push through that initial shed. 3. Do not miss doses of this product. In 1.5 years, I’ve probably only missed two doses which didn’t make any difference, however - you don’t want to fall into the habit of that as, as soon as you stop using this product, your new hair growth will likely fall out.
