Nicole Kidman wore a simple and elegant cream outfit to The Santa Barbara International Film Festival, but cream is one of those tricky colours that can wash your skin tone right out to leave you looking pale and frankly, not very interesting! The key to wearing the classic shade is to ensure that you warm your tone so your face complements rather than competes. The simplest trick is to use a warm toned blush with a very light touch to add a healthy looking edge to your complexion. I like this blush from Jemma Kidd that uses peach and pink together to give a hue that is gently warming and gives a universally flattering neutral shade that looks perfectly natural. You could also swish on some matt bronzing powder with the fattest brush you can find to give the merest hint of a tan and add the peachy shade over the top as blush.
