Everyone’s talking about it; the most design led, fashion focused, star studded evening of the year. The Met Gala Ball 2014.
We are drooling all over our favourites from this years ball held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC last night. It was hard not to admire the ever perfect Beyonce and Jay Z duo as they were paired both in Givenchy Haute Couture, another couple which rocked it were Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds both wearing Gucci.
Although most stunned us in floor length gowns, Rosie Huntington Whitely showed off her enviable pins in her warrior inspired, structured mini. Kendall Jenner stunned us all in a bespoke gown by Topshop, along with Jourdan Dunn, Tori Garrn and Chanel Iman all wearing the limited edition dresses.
Our favourite beauty look of the night had to be Cara Delevingne‘s sultry, smoky brown shadow. This look is great for those with hazel/green eyes or fairer skin as recreating a smoky eye with black shadow can often be overpowering on your features.
Step 1 – Create a flawless base with our favourite at the moment; Elizabeth Arden Flawless Finish Compact. This is great to build with depending on your preferred finish, the sponge can be used wet to give a dewy finish or dry for a heavier coverage.
Step 2 – Don’t apply concealer until the very end, when going for a heavier shadow look its always best to leave covering dark circles until the end. Loose shadow particles tend to land under the eye and its easier to brush these away on clean skin.
Step 3 – Using Lord & Berry Smudgeproof Eye Pencil, create the winged liner along the upper lash line.
Step 4 – Set with a matte shadow from Dr. Hauschka’s Eyeshadow Palette using a small angled brush.
Step 5 – Cover the entire lid with Kardashian Double Up Eyeshadow Stick in Chocolate, ensure you blend it right into the crease quickly, as cream shadows tend to set quicker than powders and pencils.
Step 6 – To give depth add a bronze shadow like those in the Bellapierre Eyeshadow Palette in Brown Eyed Girl over the cream shadow. You can build this up as much or as little as you like, depending on how bold you want the look.
Step 7 – Apply waterproof jet black liner to the inner rim of the eye to give depth and definition.
Step 8 – Using our favourite Magnetic Lash Mascara, apply two coats to the top and bottom lashes.
Step 9 – Grab a set of falsies if you long for more length and apply to upper lash line. Finish with another coat of mascara to bond with your natural lash.
Step 10 – Complete the look with Lord & Berry Luminizer Concealer Stick, this highlights the under eye area whilst removing the appearance of dark circles.
