If you are anything like me, you’ll find that the hot weather – lovely though it is – is leaching any last vestiges of moisture from my hair. A legacy of over styling means the ends tend to go brittle and dry very easily. My hairdresser has recommended that I treat it with a nourishing oil and I’m loving Phyto Phytonectar Nourishing Oil Treatment that actually has a gel formula for those who don’t like runny oils. It’s the perfect thing for those who have abused those straighteners, or didn’t use heat protective sprays before using them. I was told a useful tip the other day by lovely celebrity hairdresser, Andrew Barton (he of 10 Years Younger fame), he advises that it’s not apparantly using the appliances per se that causes the damage, but rather keeping the irons on the hair for too long. So, quick flicks with the irons rather than a long, drawn out affair. He also myth-busted the old chestnut that a cold rinse makes your hair shiny. It does not! So, no more excruciating chilly rinses – although in this weather, I can’t think of anything nicer!
