If you’ve been tempted to get out your dancing shoes in the wake of the infectious enthusiasm of Strictly Come Dancing, I’d like to suggest that before you waltz your socks off you might like to invest in a muscle soothing rub or bath soak! You can, apparantly, burn 2000 calories dancing for two hours (and no, gently bobbing next to your handbag doesn’t count!). Not only does a turn on the dance floor burn enough calories to justify an extra pudding, but it uses and tones many muscle groups. The abs, inner thigh, legs and arm muscles are all put to the test with energetic dancing. We’re not rushing to sew sequins onto our leotards, but we are certainly considering making the office party a paso doble extravaganza!
