To achieve the best party look you will need to go bold with your eye make-up! New Year’s Eve is not the time for holding back, so make sure your’e feeling adventurous and explore the full on possibilities of the smokey eye.

First things first, create the perfect base with our range of foundations  and set your face with a loose powder for flawless skin.

Eyes: To help you choose the right colours for your eyes, you need to look at your complexion and skin tone. People with brown eyes can pretty much get away with anything, but your eyes will be set alive by greens/ blues and purples, these are your ideal colours!

For those of us with blue, grey and greeny eyesbronze and brown tones are your friend, with the exception of purple which will work on both brown and blue eyes.

Here are some examples:

                   Brown eyes

Blue Eyes

                     Purple eye shadows:

For brown eyes: try the Jemma Kidd Plum quartet – £24.00  which has 4 amazing colours in the purple range to complement each other and build a smokey eye look.  To go for bold in the eye shadow stakes try this electric blue eye shadow creme with crushed jewel dust – £16.00 to finish, from Jemma Kidd.

For Blue Eyes: Try a brown and copper mixed palette like the Elizabeth Arden double Intrugue Eyes – £18.50 to build up a bronzed smokey eye. Use the lighter shade of eye shadow across the whole eye lid and then using the darker shade in along the crease and the outer corner of your eye for added definition.

To finish your eye look you will need a eye liner to define your eye and lashings of mascara. Remember to apply the eye liner along the water line to make your eyes appear smaller and under the water line to make the eye look bigger.  When applying the mascara, make sure you add a few coats for a full voluminous effect, try Elizabeth Arden Double Density Maximum Volume Mascara.

Now you have you your eyes perfected, you need to focus on your lips – either go for a natural or nude shade of lipstick such as Elizabeth Arden Pink Honey Pearl,  or if you want to go bold with your lip colour, Red and Pink lip colours will accent your eye shadow the best. Try Jemma Kidd Lip Duo in Sophia  or Becca Glossy Lip Tint Daiquiri for a reddish hue, and Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Ultra Lipstick or Elizabeth Arden Colour Intrigue Effects lipstick in Pink Shimmer for a pink finish.

Complete your New Year’s look with a hint of Blusher and you are ready for the night of your life!

Enjoy guys, here’s to a great 2013!
